Department of Aeronautical Engineering
The department of B.E Aeronautical Engineering
established in 2006 has been in the venture of preparing enterprising engineers
since its inception. A degree in aeronautical engineering will equip you with
the requisite skills and knowledge that would support the work force and meet
the emerging demands in the society. Real time exposure is provided in main
areas namely Aerodynamics, Aircraft Structures and Propulsion Systems with the
aid of industrial visits to various Defense / Aeronautical /Aerospace
establishments have been planned as the part of curriculum. The students are
encouraged and motivated to take part in ‘In plant Training Programs’, R&D
training programs and Projects to groom the learners into an industry ready
professional/ Institute Industry Interface.
A separate Aeronautical engineering Hanger has been
established for executing routine maintenance, dismantling and assembly of
aircraft components for two serviceable aircrafts. Periodical ground run
(Engine test) is given for each aeronautical engineering student. On the
successful completion of the program the learners will learn how to design,
manufacture, maintain, operate and support all varieties of aerospace vehicles.

Department of Civil Engineering
The Department of Civil Engineering incepted in
2002 started serving for 30 students with its due approval from AICTE, New
Delhi and affiliation from Anna University .In 2007, the intake was increased
to 60, at present the department has an intake of 120.In 2008 the dept was
awarded accreditation status by National board of Accreditation council (NBA),
New Delhi.
The department has taken initiatives and efforts
towards bringing the best from the candidates. As well, the department
interacts with the professionals from the industry and reaches the outside
knowledge to the students along with their class room learning. This instilled
the basic idea of inaugurating the association, a forum exclusively for the
civil engineers, christened ‘PACE’ [professional association of civil
engineers] on 20th July 2007. The formation of their association focused on
bridging the gap between the industry and institution. Through this
association, the department hosted technical events at state and National
level.
In 2007, the department hosted a national level
symposium, ‘ACME 07’, which received a great response from the students across
the nation. The best three paper presentations were awarded cash prizes and
published the technical papers in the souvenir. And also we have conducted
second national level symposium during the year 2010 in the name of ‘ESTRUCTURA
2K10’. We conducted our third National level technical symposium in the name of
“INCURSUS 2k14”.

M.E – Communication Systems
Mankind has always communicated, but the means of
communication changes. Over the past century, communication technologies have
had a fundamental impact on how we carry out our daily lives. Besides using the
internet and mobile phones for interpersonal communication; businesses,
banking, transportation systems, TV and radio broadcasts and smart power grids
rely on advanced communication technology. In future, there will still be advanced
communication systems and communication engineers will be needed to develop and
maintain them. Future communication systems will form the foundation for a
sustainable and intelligent society where people and equipment can be connected
anywhere, anytime with anything.
A high degree of connectivity will be a key enabler
for new innovative technologies and applications that can benefit from
information sharing. Evolving technologies are 4G & 5G mobile
communications, machine communications, fiber optical links and networks and
sensor network communication, with emerging new applications such as remote and
assisted medical diagnosis and treatment, traffic and vehicle safety,
environmental monitoring, maximizing efficiency and reliability in smart grid
infrastructure, and tele-presence systems that reduce the need for energy
consuming transportation of people. In order to gain insight into communication
systems of the future, and to develop such systems, solid analytical skills and
an understanding of the fundamental principles of digital information
transmissions are essential. Besides the fundamentals in communication
engineering we focus on e.g. random signal analysis, stochastic methods for
digital modulation and coding, applications of digital signal processing,
optical fibers and lasers and information theory and coding. M.E. Communication
Systems course offers combination of theoretical and applied knowledge in
systems that apply on a global scale to give a lifelong learning process in
communication technologies through modern software and hardware tools.
M.E. CAD/CAM Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been
functioning since the inception of the college. It has best infrastructural
facilities with highly qualified and talented faculties offering quality
education in Mechanical Engineering. The department offers B.E. Degree program
in Mechanical Engineering and M.E. Degree Program in CAD/CAM. The department

M.E. – Power Electronics & Drives
Master of Engineering in Power Electronics and
Drives is offered by Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and
started in the year 2004. The Department is steered by a well qualified and
dedicated group of Faculty members imparting quality education to the students.
The Department of Power Electronics and Drives
offers theoretical and practical expertise to the M.E. Students. The
Laboratories are well equipped with sophisticated equipments like Semi
Converter, Full Converter, MOSFET & IGBT Based Choppers, IGBT based single
phase Inverter which cater to the need of present day Industries.
M.E. – VLSI Design
Very Large Scale Integrated (VLSI) Circuits is an
important area in modern electronics that has revolutionized the growth in
Space technology, Defense, Communication, Instrumentation, Medical Electronics,
Computing, Internet, and Modern automations in various industries. Developments
in VLSI have reduced the size of chips from 10 micrometer to few nanometers by
faithfully following Moore’s Law which states that “the technology shrinks to
1/4th the area in every 18 months”. This has posed challenge to the chip
designers throughout the world and hence evolved into a systematic area of
study in all leading universities. VLSI also demands long and dedicated
exposure from its designers so that they can evolve first time success chips.
Along with complicated chip design various
Electronic Design Automation tools have evolved over last two decades posing
challenge to the academic community to train manpower on complicated but
systematic technology as well as sophisticated tool chains. Since this
specialization demands development from its designers, higher education like
Post Graduate and Research Programs are vital to the development of modern
economy. Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering College
offers Post Graduate Program in VLSI Design with state of the art software
tools like Xilinx, Model sim, Tanner and CADENCE and well equipped Laboratory
facility.
